Superior baseball is currently in the middle of a five-game home stretch, as they picked up back-to-back wins at home over Grand Rapids and Duluth Denfeld earlier this week.
The Spartans and the Hilltoppers of Duluth Marshall battled each other for an afternoon matchup at NBC Complex.
The Spartans got on the board first in the second innings as Hayden Smith cranked one to centerfield, allowing two runs to score and the game 2-0. The Spartans and the Hilltoppers went on to add runs throughout the game, but the Spartans would go on to win, 5-4.
Earlier in Superior, Esko baseball was looking to continue on their 3-0 perfect start to their season and went looking to make it four straight battling Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin.
Game tied at 2; until Eskomos Bryce Hipp blasted one deep to centerfield, giving Cale Haugen room to score and take the lead. Owen Wilson increased the Eskomos lead with a deep center hit from Hipp once again, as Esko went on to win big 14 to 4.
