Superior boys' hockey finds new head coach within its staff
The Superior boys’ hockey team is seeing one coach step down, and another step up.
Evan Nelson has made the decision to step down as head coach of the Spartans after two seasons. Nelson stated the position was still a ‘dream job,’ but work and family have taken precedent.
The search for a new head coach didn’t take long, as the program tabbed Rob Downs to take the reins after nineteen years of assistant coaching for the Spartans.
Nelson will not be leaving the team completely as he will return as an assistant coach.
