Superior boys hockey was just minutes away from advancing in the WIAA tournament, but fell to Wausau West in overtime, 4-3.
The Spartans held the lead for the majority of the game, holding a 1-0 lead, and both a 2-1 and 3-1 lead, but in the remaining minutes of regular time, the Spartans surrendered two goals to force an overtime period.
There, Hendrix Demrow net the game winner, ending Superior’s season with a 7-4-1 record.
