Superior City FC men clinch playoff berth in inaugural season

On Saturday the Superior City FC men’s soccer team clinched a historic first playoff berth in their inaugural season.

Superior City defeated Vlora FC 2-1 in Superior to secure their spot in the postseason. The game-winning goal came late in the 89th minute from Mally Lumsden, a former College of St. Scholastica Saint. The game-tying goal came from Mark Fehringer in the 76th minute.

Superior City now awaits the results of Vlora’s game against the St. Paul Blackhawks Wednesday. If either team wins Superior will visit Minneapolis City SC Sunday at 7 p.m., however if the match ends in a draw Superior will visit St. Croix SC in Stillwater.
