On Thursday the Superior City FC women’s soccer team shut out Granite City FC 9-0 at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex to earn their first playoff berth in their inaugural season.
Superior opened the scoring early with a Niya Wilson goal in the second minute. The Superior native would net two goals in the second half, joined by Hunter Zamzow and Molly Henderson giving Superior a 4-0 lead at the break.
Henerson scored the first goal of what would be a five goal second half, helping Superior win 9-0. They have one regular season game remaining Saturday hosting Tonka Fusion at home at 7 p.m.
In June Superior City FC men were also able to secure a postseason berth in their inaugural season.
