Superior dominates the diamond with baseball & softball wins over Grand Rapids
The NBC Spartan Sports Complex was full of Superior Spartan runs, as the Spartans baseball team used a ferocious comeback to beat Grand Rapids 6-5, while the Superior softball team ran away with things early, winning 18-2.
Superior baseball weathered the Grand Rapids storm, as a 5-0 deficit wasn’t enough to keep them out of the win column. Six unanswered runs gave Superior their first win of the season in thrilling fashion.
The Spartans next take on Duluth East on Thursday at 4:30 p.m, while Grand Rapids takes on Duluth Denfeld on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
The softball team was dominant wire to wire, as they posted seven runs before the first out was recorded and scored 13 in just the first inning. The lead proved to be too big for the Thunderhawks to catch up to.
Superior looks to win a second straight when they take on Cloquet on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Grand Rapids will look to bounce back against Proctor on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
