Superior’s Connor Krueger wrestles to State for third time

Not once, not twice, but three times Superior senior Connor Krueger has wrestled his way into state.
Two weeks ago he won the Heart O’ North Conference tournament and was named Conference Wrestler of the Year, then Tuesday he was sent off by the Spartans to the big mats in Madison.
“I’m not intimidated anymore. I remember freshman year and even a little bit junior year, I step in that Kohl Center. Oh, my gosh. It’s huge. Tons of fans. Great wrestlers everywhere. And I can confidently say that this year I’m ready to go. I feel like I deserve to be there this year,” said Krueger.
Additionally Ashland’s Madison Burns, and Northwestern’s Ian Smith and Tanner Kaufman have qualified for state.
The WIAA individual tournament runs Thursday, February 23 through Saturday, February 25 at the Kohl Center.
