The University of North Dakota men’s hockey sweeps UMD on home ice

UMD men's hockey celebrates Owen Gallatin's goal against #5 Denver.
On Saturday evening, the University of Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey team could not keep up with the #17/18 University of North Dakota.
The Fighting Hawks start the scoring off early in the second period with a goal from Sacha Boisvert, and they would only wait another minute before sinking the puck in again thanks to Cameron Berg on the power-play. The Hawks would capitalize on another power-play with a goal from Jake Schmaltz. That same power play would bring in two more goals for North Dakota from Boisvert and Berg – both tallying their second goals of the game.
Three minutes into the third period, the Fighting Hawk’s Owen McLaughlin would go unassisted for another goal, giving North Dakota a 6-0 lead. UMD would net their only goal by Jason Shaugabay with less than a minute left in regulation play.
UMD will return to play Miami University of Ohio on Friday, February 28th at 7PM at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, click here to view their full season schedule.
