Saint Scholastica was buzzing on Saturday afternoon with some of the regions top track and field participants at the CSS High School Invitational.

In the girls 1600 meter, Duluth East’s Taylor Wood just edged out Superior’s Elena Almonte. Wood had a time of 5:32.77, Almonte finished with 5:38.66.

In the boys 400, Duluth East showed up yet again, with Donovin Wittenberg and Dane Ahrens finishing 1st and 2nd, with times to 54.29 and 56.16 respectively.

In the girls 400, Granstburg’s Noelle Doornink finished with a 1:01.76, with a trio of Hayward runners behind her in Brianna Hexum, Molly Eaton and Natalie Grubbs.
