Two Harbors sees season end falling to Pequot Lakes in Section 7AAA title game

The Two Harbors football team saw their 2024 season come to a close Thursday night when they fell 36-15 to undefeated Pequot Lakes (10-0) in the Section 7AAA title game held at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). Two Harbors was making their first section finals appearance since 2018, when they won it all to go to state.

The Agates came out of the gate first, scoring to take an early 8-0 lead off a safety then subsequent touchdown. The Patriots responded with a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie the game 8-8 after the first quarter. That’s when Pequot Lake’s offense sparked. They, behind Bryar Nordby performance, would take a 22-8 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Patriots would score six more before Two Harbors broke back into the end zone behind quarterback Jacob Carpenter. This would make the score 28-15. However Pequot Lakes adds eight more to earn the 36-15 win.

Two Harbors finishes their season with an 8-2 overall record.
