Two more Duluth Husky alums selected in MLB Draft

The 2024 MLB Draft officially concluded on Tuesday with Rounds 11-20. During the day two more Duluth Husky alums were claimed.

Mason Burns, with Duluth in 2022 and 2023, was selected 411th in Round 14 by the St. Louis Cardinals. The 6’3” closing pitcher just finished his senior year at the Division I Western Kentucky University. The Spring he was named a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year award.

Kasen Wells, a Duluth Husky in 2023, was taken in Round 16 with pick 480 by the San Diego Padres. The outfielder most recently played for Weatherford College in Texas. In 59 games last spring he recorded a .383 batting average.

On Monday, the Milwaukee Brewers drafted 2022 Duluth Husky alum Jaron DeBerry 93rd overall.
