Two UMD Bulldog alum sign professional deals
Two UMD men’s hockey alum have signed professional hockey deals.
Former captain Luke Loheit signed with the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL, while Goalie Kasimir Kaskisuo has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Boston Bruins.
Loheit was an assistant captain for UMD during the 2022-23 season, and captain during the 2023-24 season.
In his five years with the Bulldogs the forward tallied 56 points in 166 games.
In 2018, the Mankato native was taken by the Ottawa Senators in the 7th round of the NHL draft.
Last season, Kaskisuo played for the AHL’s Laval Rocket.
In 13 games, he posted a 2.90 goals against average and .909 save percentage.
In total, the 30 year old has appeared in 108 career AHL games with a 53-36-10 record. He’s also logged two seasons in the Swedish Hockey League.
