UMD women’s basketball has made an addition to their bench, welcoming in a former rival.

Ashley Gustavson joins the Bulldogs coaching staff as an intern assistant coach for the 2024-25 season.

Gustavson spent the last year at Minnesota State University Moorhead, where she spent her graduate year of eligibility playing for the Dragons, but spent the four years prior playing for Wayne State.

Despite playing the entire season with a stress fracture in her foot, Gustavson played in all 29 games for the dragons averaging 4.5 points per game.
