UMD adds St. Cloud’s Joe Molenaar via transfer portal

The UMD men’s hockey season has been over for awhile now, but some roster turnover with the transfer portal has finally been kind to them.
Joe Molenaar is heading to UMD after a four year career at St. Cloud State.
With the Huskies, Molenaar tallied 16 goals and 15 assists in 108 games.
This past season one of his best though, with eight goals – even one against the Bulldogs – and four assists as an assistant captain.
The Molenaar family name is actually a familiar one to UMD. Joe’s cousin, Dan, was part of the 2017 team that got to the 2017 NCAA frozen four and national championship game.
Molenaar also played at Minnetonka high school.
