UMD cross country sweeps Bulldog Open to start season

On Thursday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the Bulldog Open to begin their 2022 season.
Held at Lester Park Golf Course, UMD raced off against the College of St. Scholastica (CSS), the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS), and Northland College.
The men’s 5k would open the action with UMD’s Jack Van Kempen claiming first place by just two seconds finishing with a time of 15:22.
The women’s 5k followed. Maddie Verkerke would complete the sweep for the Bulldogs finishing first with a time of 18:04.
