The UMD football team has announced their captains for the upcoming 2024 season.

The six captains are familiar names for UMD.

The list consists of linebacker Drew Hennessey, fifth year linebacker Andrew Klopp, senior defensive back Jacob Mogensen, graduate tight end Sam Pitz, redshirt junior quarterback Kyle Walljasper and fifth-year offensive lineman Aiden Williams.

Hennessy and Klopp were NSIC All-Conference first defensive team members this past season, while Sam Pitz is a three time all offensive team selection and Walljasper made the second team as this season as well.

This group of captains have a big test ahead of them this week, as UMD takes on Bemidji State in the spring game, which takes place Wednesday at Malosky stadium at 4 p.m.
