On Thursday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team announced they’ve hired a new assistant coach in Luke Olson.
Olson will serve as UMD’s defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator.
A Twin Cities native he Tweeted out that he’s excited to return to his home state and work for a program with a strong tradition of success.
He inherits a Bulldogs defensive back group that was ranked first in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) in passing defense and second in interceptions with 13.
Olson spent the past three years as the University of Sioux Falls’ defensive line coach.
