UMD Football leaning on chemistry and teamwork ahead of tough home test
The UMD Football team has outscored their last two opponents 88-7, as they haven’t taken their loss to Wayne State lightly.
The 7-1 Bulldogs are firing on all cylinders, but with a 6-1 Bemidji State team coming to town, Saturday’s game might not come as easily for the Bulldogs as it has in the past. For UMD Head coach Curt Wiese, he thinks the foundation of his team will take care of things.
“Looking back at this season, heading into the year, we didn’t really know what to expect. We had a new starting Quarterback and some new guys on defense, the guys starting out front for us. So we knew we were going to have our challenges cut out. But, you know, I think our guys have meshed well. We’ve played good football so far and look forward to continuing that this week.”
UMD was blown out in last years meeting between the two, losing 41-16. Kickoff from Malosky Stadium is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday, and it will also be the Tackle Cancer game.
