Last Saturday was a perfect storm for the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) football team. They beat the University of Sioux Falls 42-34 for the first time since 2013, while also getting head coach Curt Wiese his 100th career win.
While they’re off to a perfect 3-0 start to their season Wiese said there’s no time to be content.
“We got to stay hungry. We’ve had a couple of wins here where we’ve controlled the ball, we’ve held the lead, we haven’t played from behind. We haven’t been stressed really on either side. Looking back at the Sioux Falls game, maybe it was a good lesson for us that we didn’t come out of that game with a 21 or 28 point win. So hopefully that allows our guys to continue to stay hungry,” Wiese said.”
UMD will look to go 4-0 Saturday for the first time since 2019 when they visit Southwest Minnesota State University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
