UMD Men’s and Women’s Basketball looks to rebound against Concordia-St. Paul
Both the University of Minnesota Duluth men’s and women’s basketball teams fell to both Minot State and Winona State in their mid-week matchups, now, they must rebound quickly to face Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday.
“We’re close, I said that earlier in the year, and we finally broke through for a while. So, for us, that’s about trying to put 40 minutes together. We’ve been putting 25, 30, 35 minutes together, but trying to put 40 minutes together, and in this league is tough, that’s what we’re trying to do right now,” said UMD men’s basketball head coach Justin Wieck.
The UMD men’s basketball team fell 86-78 to Winona State, now sitting with a record of 13-7 for the season. The UMD women’s basketball team fell to Winona State 57-53.
“I’m excited to see what we look like if we can ever put that all together for 40 minutes consistently, because the potential’s there. And like I told them after the game, like, we’re this close. And I actually genuinely mean that we’re this close to putting it all together. It just takes a lot of focus and we’re young. And so, we’re learning how to do that,” said UMD women’s basketball head coach Mandy Pearson.
Both teams will take on Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, February 1st, the men’s team will play at 1PM, and the women’s team will play at 3PM. Click here to view the men’s full season schedule, click here to view the women’s full season schedule,
