UMD men’s basketball tops Winona, secures 3rd straight NSIC championship berth
On Monday, the No. 11 University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s basketball team defeated Winona State University 90-76 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) semifinals held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Bulldogs’ Drew Blair led the game with 38 points, outshooting Winona State’s leader in Connor Dillon by 11 points. Charlie Katona led in rebounds with nine, adding 13 points.
This marks UMD’s 13th straight win, securing them a spot in the NSIC championship game for the third straight year. As the two seed UMD will next battle top-seeded Minnesota State University-Mankato in the NSIC title game Tuesday at 4 p.m.
