UMD men’s hockey blanks Miami (Ohio) for first NCHC points

The UMD men’s hockey team turned in a nearly flawless performance on Friday night, taking down Miami (Ohio) 5-0 for the first NCHC points of the season.

The Bulldogs came out firing in the first period, as Carter Loney and Jack Smith both found the back of the net to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Dominic James was the only goal for UMD in the second period, followed by two in the third period, one by Anthony Menghini and Aiden Dubinsky each.

Adam Gajan turned in a clean sheet, putting forward a 21 save shutout.

The Bulldogs and RedHawks are back in action Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
