UMD men’s hockey celebrates life of Adam Johnson, falls to #9 Western Michigan
UMD men’s hockey couldn’t come out on top against #9 Western Michigan despite a 1-0 lead, as UMD fell 4-1.
Before the game, the Bulldogs honored the life of former UMD men’s hockey player Adam Johnson, whose life ended last October when he caught a skate blade to the neck. Johnson was celebrated with a silent auction throughout the week, as well as each Bulldog player wearing a #7 jersey in warmups.
The Bulldogs got out to a 1-0 lead in the second period thanks to Ty Hanson’s goal midway through the period, but the UMD defense couldn’t hold on too long, as the Bulldogs allowed two goals in the following six minutes.
In the third period, the Bulldogs allowed two more goals to put the game out of reach.
UMD turns to face Arizona State on December 6th after a week off.
