UMD men’s hockey comes up short against #11 Western Michigan
Despite a 2-0 lead early on and a 2-2 tie with three minutes left in regulation, the UMD men’s hockey team fell 5-2 to #11 Western Michigan on Saturday.
Ben Steeves kicked off the scoring for the Bulldogs just over 10 minutes into the game, capitalizing on a power play.
Just second before the end of the first period, Blake Biondi found the back of the net for the Bulldogs, extending their lead to 2-0.
Despite Western Michigan knotting the game up at 2-2, the rest of the game seemed fairly even, until the Broncos flipped the switch and scored three goals in the last three minutes of the game.
UMD is back in action next weekend at home against Miami Ohio.
