Saturday, for the first time in their Division I history, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team will face off against St. Thomas University.
While it’s an exhibition battle the Bulldogs are excited at what the mid-year match offers.
“I think it gives us an opportunity to see some things that we maybe thought about or hadn’t had a chance to see, more so line combinations. ” UMD assistant coach Cody Chupp shared. “Power play wise it’s hopefully an opportunity to get back-to-back weeks of some power play work with the same groups.”
UMD enters with a 8-10 overall record while the Tommies boast a 5-14-1 record.
Puck drop Saturday at AMSOIL Arena is set for 2 p.m.
