UMD men's hockey falls in overtime to Alaska Fairbanks

Just a day after ending in a 2-2 tie, UMD men’s hockey and Alaska Fairbanks went to overtime yet again, this time with the Nanooks winning 2-1.

The Bulldogs and Nanooks were pretty evenly matched throughout the game, however, in the second period, Fairbanks scored to put the Bulldogs behind 1-0.

It would take until the final minute and a half of play for UMD to strike back, as Blake Bechen found the back of the net to tie the game up and go to overtime.

In overtime, a puck snuck past Klayton Knapp to give Fairbanks the win.

UMD next takes the ice on January 10th when they host St. Cloud State, with puck drop at 7:07 p.m.
