UMD men’s hockey leaps up to No. 14 in USCHO poll, women drop to No. 8

Following week two of their seasons both the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s and women’s hockey teams have remained top 20 teams in the nation.
Following a 5-5 tie, and high scoring 8-5 win, over Northern Michigan University last weekend the Bulldog men moved up three spots to number 14 in the USCHO poll.
Suffering a sweep to number two Ohio State University, falling 5-2 then 2-0, the Bulldog women slipped two spots to number eight in the USCHO poll.
This weekend the women are scheduled to visit Minnesota State University-Mankato Friday and Saturday afternoon. The men will battle Bemidji State University in a home-and-home series, with UMD hosting the Beavers Friday at 7:07 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena.
