The UMD Men’s hockey team has a luxury that not many teams have, and that’s two goalies that have been incredible all season.

One of those goalies is Matthew Thiessen, whose 55 save weekend was good enough for NCHC Goaltender of the week.

47 of Thiessen’s 55 saves came on Saturday in a tie against the #6 Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Despite playing just 75 minutes between the two games, Thiessen had the fourth most saves of any goalie in the conference and the second best save percentage.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday against North Dakota.
