UMD men’s hockey outlasted by #17 North Dakota

UMD men's hockey celebrates Owen Gallatin's goal against #5 Denver.
Less than two minutes into first period, #17 North Dakota scored their first goal of the game, setting the tone for what would be a 4-2 loss for the UMD Bulldogs on Friday night.
The Fighting Hawks would find the back of the net once more in the first period, beating UMD goaltender Adam Gajan, who started his second game since November.
Trailing 2-0, Joe Molenaar cleaned up a shot from Carter Loney in front of the net to cut the deficit in half. However, the Fighting Hawks would respond moments later, extending their lead to 3-1. UMD’s Blake Bechen got the Bulldogs back on the board soon after to make it a 3-2 game, but UMD couldn’t capitalize on their chances the rest of the way.
The Bulldogs will get another crack at North Dakota on Saturday at 6:07 p.m.
