The fifth ranked University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) are gearing up for their home opener tomorrow against Arizona State.
This weekend marks the first ever match-ups between these two squads, which creates an exciting challenge for both the coaching staff and players.
“I’ve seen them play on tape even last year. they play physical, they play hard. they’ve got a good team. there’s a reason they’ve been in the tournament. obviously without a conference to play in every game is huge for them,” said head coach Scott Sandelin.
“They started off kind of new to the scene the past five years or so but you know they’ve got some good players. Like Josh Doan and Matthew Kopperud. I played against both of them in juniors, they’re good players,” added captain Luke Loheit.
Puck drop tomorrow on the start of the 2022 season will be at 6:00 p.m. at Amosoil Arena.
