UMD men's hockey scores five as Bulldogs sweep #10 St. Cloud State

UMD men’s hockey was shot out of a cannon on Saturday, as the Bulldogs scored five goals in a 5-2 win over #10 St. Cloud State.

The Bulldogs extended an impressive streak a year longer – holding St. Cloud State winless at AMSOIL Arena. The streak dates back to March 2022.

Jayson Shaugabay got on the board for the Bulldogs in the first period, giving the UMD offense the spark they needed. In the second period, the avalanche of goals came. Five total goals were scored, with three of those coming from Bulldogs; Adam Kleber, Dom James, and Max Plante.

In the third period, Joey Pierce put the icing on the cake to take down the Huskies and complete the weekend sweep.

The Bulldogs will look to take this momentum into next weeks matchup, when they face Colorado College.
