UMD men’s hockey takes down Miami thanks to overtime goal
Even though score would remain tied in regulation play, the University of Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey took down Miami University of Ohio 3-2 thanks to a goal in overtime.
Miami’s Max Dukovac got the scoring started eight minutes into the first period, and the Bulldogs would respond with a goal of their own three minutes later thanks to Braden Fischer. With seven minutes to go in the first period, Callum Arnott would find the back of the net on a Miami five-minute major power play to put the Bulldogs up 2-1.
The score would remain 2-1 Bulldogs until the third period, when Miami’s Ryan Sullivan would sink his shot to tie things up.
In overtime, it would be Jack Smith who would win the game for the Bulldogs two minutes into play.
