UMD men’s hockey topples University of Massachusetts Lowell in first road matchup

After dropping their home opener last Saturday, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team earned their first win taking down the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Lowell 4-2 on Friday in Massachusetts.

In the first period, despite being short-handed, Joe Molenaar tied the game up at 1-1. Dominic James then made an attempt to take the lead but hit the post, but Callum Arnott was there to back him up – scoring his first collegiate goal. In the second period. Braden Fischer forced the turnover and put the puck into the net to put the Bulldogs up 3-1. In the third period James returned, putting one in the net.

The UMD Bulldogs bring home their first road win 4-2 against the River Hawks.

The Bulldogs will return to face the River Hawks Saturday, October 12th at 5:05PM at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.
