The UMD Men’s hockey team would get their second win of the season in game one of a home and home series against Bemidji State, winning 4-0.
The Bulldogs, who have been excellent in the first period all year, continued that trend, netting three goals in the first period.
The first came from Matthew Perkins, who netted his first of the year to give the Bulldogs the early advantage.
After a boarding penalty by Bemidji State, the Bulldogs took advantage of the five minute major and scored two goals, one by Luke Bast and the other by Aaron Pionk.
As if three wasn’t enough, Cole Spicer added another goal onto the total to finish the game at 4-0.
The Bulldogs will visit Bemidji tomorrow for their first road game of the year.
