UMD men’s hockey using bye week to refresh for North Dakota
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey team is entering a bye this week. While they are coming off a sweep over Stonehill College last weekend, head coach Scott Sandelin saw a lot he wants to clean up. UMD took game one of that series 5-1, but only bested Stonehill 2-1 in game two.
Looking forward, Sandelin said staying consistent will be key for their next test against the sixth ranked University of North Dakota
“I have done this long enough. These bye weeks are beneficial, and then also I don’t like them, right? You want to keep going and you want to keep building, and we came off a good weekend. We threw some compete but it was fun compete, and now we get back to work. Working on special teams and some of the things that we need to do before we play North Dakota,” Sandelin said.
UMD (3-4) is off until Friday, November 8 when they host No. 6 North Dakota (3-2) at 7 p.m. That series finale will be Saturday, November 9 at 6 p.m. at AMSOIL Arena.
