UMD soccer's Haugen, Tobias named 2024 NSIC Players to Watch

A former Duluth Marshall soccer star is one of two Bulldogs to catch the eye of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).

UMD women’s soccer’s Baamlak Haugen, along with Anna Tobias, were named NSIC Preseason Players to Watch.

A senior midfielder, Haugen played 1,171 minutes in all 19 matches for UMD last season. She collected eight total shots and helped hold opponents to just 1.47 goals a game.

Tobias comes off a record season where she recorded 12 points, scored five goals, including an NCAA DII record fastest hat trick, all on 45 total shots.

UMD was slated to finish 8th in the NSIC Preseason rankings. Their season opener is September 5 against Northern Michigan University. For their full schedule, click here.
