On Thursday, University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) softball senior Lauren Dixon was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association D2 Player and Pitcher of the Year Watchlist.

One of 16 Central Region players, and one of seven pitchers, Dixon currently leads the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) with 120 strikeouts in 91 innings pitched.

The Wisconsin native has an 11-3 record, including four shutouts, and 1.46 ERA so far this season.
