UMD softball’s winning streak snapped in St. Paul
UMD softballs win streak was snapped on Saturday, when they were swept in a doubleheader against Concordia St. Paul, 3-2 in game one and 6-5 in game two.
In game one, the Bulldogs allowed three runs in the bottom of the fourth thanks to an inside the park home run, but would get their own chance at scoring when Julia Gronholz sent a ball over the center field wall.
Despite the home run, the Bulldogs would fall in game one, but not without the drama of having the tying run on base stranded.
In game two, UMD would allow five unanswered runs before striking back.
Khendal Johnson would put a single down the line to drive in a run, but CSP would score once more.
The Bulldogs would add more to the final tally, but ultimately couldn’t win this one either.
UMD’s next chance at a win comes on Wednesday against Minnesota Crookston for the first time this season.
