UMD women's hockey adds two more to staff
New head coach for the UMD women’s hockey team, Laura Schuler, is tightening up her staff, making two new additions on Friday, Ashleigh Brykaliuk and Olivia Soares.
Brykaliuk returns to the Bulldog coaching staff after stepping away in June of 2021 to play for the Minnesota w=Whitecaps of the PHF for three seasons.
Soares comes to Duluth from Union College, where she spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach.
Brykaliuk is part of history on the ice for the Bulldogs, as she recorded the second-longest scoring streak in UMD history with a 19-game, 26 point run.
Soares is also a respected skater, as in her time at Union she helped them post the most overall and conference wins in a two-year stretch in the program’s DI history.
