After Olivia Wallin’s goal just three minutes into the game, the Bulldogs had trouble with Ohio State’s offensive firepower, as the #2 Buckeyes squashed the #6 Bulldogs early lead to win 5-2.
Ohio State’s Hadley Hartmetz was the catalyst for the Buckeyes, netting the equalizer and the advantage within a minute and a half of each other. The Bulldogs would go into the 2nd period down 2-1, but were quickly down 3-1 when Jenna Buglioni ripped a short-handed goal.
The Bulldogs fought back, as Reece Hunt burried her second goal in as many games to cut the deficit to 3-2, but couldn’t come all the way back.
The Bulldogs will have the opportunity to finally beat the Buckeyes on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 3:00 at AMSOIL Arena.
