The UMD Bulldogs Women’s Hockey team started their season off on a strong note, beating the Long Island University Sharks 6-0.
The win had many memorable moments, such as Mannon McMahon’s four goal night, but perhaps no feat was bigger than head coach Maura Crowell reaching her 250th career win and at the helm of UMD.
The puck dropped at AMSOIL Arena at 6:01, and within 90 seconds, the Bulldogs were already up 1-0, thanks to Olivia Wallin’s goal.
After Wallin’s goal, the majority of the box score had McMahon’s name all over it. McMahon became the first UMD Bulldog to score four goals in one game since Pernilla Winberg did it in 2011. Her four goals contributed to the 52 shots that the Bulldogs had during the game.
The Bulldogs are back in action against the Sharks at AMSOIL Arena. Puck drop is set for 3:01 p.m.
