UMD women's hockey names captains for 2024-25 season

On Wednesday, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s hockey team announced their leadership core for the 2024-25 season.

Clara Van Wieren and Nina Jobst-Smith have been named team captains, while Hanna Baskin and Mary Kate O’Brien will serve as alternate captains.

A graduate student forward, Van Wieren scored a career-best 13 goals last season with 24 points.

Jobst-Smith, a fifth year defender, posted four goals and eight assists with 57 blocks last year.

Senior defender Baskin recorded a career-best five goals and 13 assists during the 2023-2024 slate. O’Brien, a redshirt junior forward, had seven goals and seven assists last winter.
