UMD Women’s hockey starts their road play this weekend paying MSU-Mankato a visit.
Despite suffering a sweep to Ohio State last week, the team saw marked improvement during the series.
They dropped game one Friday, 5-2, then game two just 2-0, holding the buckeyes to only two power play goals.
The Bulldogs were backstopped by Freshman goalie Ève Gascon, who combined for 71 saves over the weekend.
“I think she’s a really smart goalie,” said Head Coach Maura Crowell. “She’s played at a lot of different levels, whether it’s Women’s or Men’s. Reading, pucks, players, sticks, becomes really important when it’s a, you know, a high flying offense like OSU and just understanding situational hockey, I think that’s what you’re kind of getting at. She’s really good at that. “
Puck drop against MSU-Mankato is set for 3:01 p.m. on Friday and 2:01 p.m. on Saturday.
