UMD women’s, men’s basketball heading to NCAA tournament
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) women’s basketball team will be representing the Central Region as the No. 1 seed in this year’s 2023 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.
The Bulldogs will now host No. 8 seed Southern Nazarene for the first round of the tournament. Tip-off is Friday, March 10 at 5 p.m.
This marks the first time in school history the Bulldogs will host a Regional between either the women’s and men’s programs at Romano Gym. It will also be the UMD women’s fifth straight tournament trip.

The UMD men’s basketball team was placed at No. 6 in their Central Regional and will take on No. 3 seeded Central Oklahoma on Saturday. Tip-off is set for Noon in Maryville, Missouri.

This mark’s their second straight national tournament berth after making it to March Madness last season for the first time since 2003.
