Local news, sports, weather presented by the WDIO News Team
After the University of Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey team swept Miami University of Ohio in their last home series of the season, freshman Adam Gajan found himself with another NCHC Rookie of the Week Honor.
The freshman goaltender nabbed the award for the first time in November. In their weekend matchup against Miami, Gajan was the only unbeaten goaltender in the league to play two games and boasted 51 saves and a .944 save percentage, along with making 8 of 9 saves in Saturday’s shootout to help UMD defeat Miami.
