On Thursday the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the College of St. Scholastica (CSS), University of Wisconsin-Superior, and Northland College for the Bulldog Open at the Lester Park Golf Course.
UMD swept the meet finishing first as a team behind first place finishes from seniors Austin Antony and Lauryn Renier.
For the first time this year the men’s field would run a 6k rather than a 5k. Antony beat out CSS’ Calvin Boone by two seconds to finish first with a time of 18:13.5.
The women would run the tradition 5k. Renier would beat out CSS’ Allison Hendrickson by 0.7 of a second finishing with a first place time of 18:35.0.
The Bulldog Open marks the only collegiate cross country race scheduled to take place in the Northland during the 2023 season. For full results, Click Here.
