UMD’s Emma Soderberg has been named a finalist for WCHA Player of the Year

More accolades are getting ranked up for University of Minnesota (UMD) women’s hockey graduate student goalie Emma Soderberg. After being named goaltender of the month, she has also been named a finalist for Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) player of the year and outstanding student-athlete of the year.
On Monday, Soderberg was also named a top-3 finalist for WCHA goaltender of the year. Currently, she leads the NCAA with 11 shutouts and is boasting a season goal-against average of 1.35; currently sitting second in program single-season history with the lowest goals-against average.
The WCHA will name its outstanding student-athlete of the year Thursday at 11 am, followed by the WCHA’s player of the year announcement at noon.
