UMD’s MacLeod named HCA Women’s goaltender of the month
A big reason for the #8 UMD women hockey team’s success has been their dynamic backstop duo between Hailey MacLeod and Ève Gascon.
Fixing in on just one of the goaltenders, Hailey MacLeod was named the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) Women’s Goaltender of the month, after the best statistical output of her career.
MacLeod led the WCHA with a league-low 0.49 goals against average and just two goals allowed in the 106 shots she faced in February.
MacLeod has been recognized in the WCHA four times this season, but MacLeod can now boast her first national award. The sophomore has posted an 11-4-3 record this season and is looking to add to those numbers against Ohio state on Friday.
