UMD’s Max Plante named to NCHC All-Rookie Team
On Tuesday University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey freshman Max Plante was one of seven skaters named to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) All-Rookie Team for the 2024-2025 season.
He becomes the first Bulldog in five years to earn the honor, the last being Wyatt Kaiser in the 2020-21 season.
Plante, a Hermantown native, led all rookies with 21 points in conference play this winter, despite missing four NCHC games. The Detroit Red Wings draft pick scored seven goals, while adding 14 assists, in 20 NCHC games this season.
Plante and the Bulldogs will drop the puck in round one of the NCHC postseason tournament this Friday, March 14 visiting Arizona State University. Puck drop in game one of the best-of-three series is set for 8 p.m. CT.
