UMD's Steeves, Pionk earn final NCHC weekly honors
Last weekend, the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men’s hockey swept a No. 17 ranked St. Cloud State University team to end their regular season. Then on Monday, two Bulldogs earned top conference honors.
Ben Steeves was named National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Forward of the Week, while Aaron Pionk was named NCHC Defenseman of the Week.
Steeves had a four point weekend scoring two goals, including the game-winner, Friday. Pionk also had a four point series, with one goal and three assists.
UMD opens the NCHC Tournament Friday visiting the University of Denver.
